Bizarre ring is compared to ‘festering boils’ on social media

A bizarre ring has been dubbed an ‘abomination’ on social media – with some users comparing the jewellery to ‘genital warts’ and the ‘Black Plague’.

A woman from Texas posted the photographs of the unusual ring to the That’s it, I’m ring shaming Facebook group on Friday, saying simply ‘Um’.

The statement piece features layered pink, purple and pearlescent white gems set in clusters on a substantial gold band.

The rings surface has a foiled texture to it, while the biggest gem is raised above the other clusters.

But the gold band was clearly not to everyone’s taste, with Facebook users taking to the comments to compare the gems to ‘festering boils’.

One user said: ‘Take off that God awful infection before it spreads!’

Another commented: ‘I’m pretty sure it’s about to hatch’.

‘Festering boils is what comes to mind,’ added a third.

Some social media users even compared the divisive ring to ‘genital warts’, with one user writing: ‘I didn’t know you could bejewel warts now’.

Another dubbed the jewellery an ‘actual abomination’ while others alleged the sight of it alone gave them ‘anxiety’.

A user said: ‘Is this the Black Plague?’

‘That ring is an actual abomination,’ commented another.

A third added: ‘This makes me so f****** uncomfortable’.

It was even claimed the ring sparked one user’s trypophobia, which is a fear or aversion to the sight of irregular patterns, clusters and small holes.

One user said: ‘So I learned that this ring will certainly set off deep seeded fear of holes’.

‘Ow, my trypophobia,’ said another.
