Woolworths’ puts a VERY unique twist on popular Christmas treats

With the festive season only two months away, Woolworths has launched a new line of baked treats and put a unique twist on old Christmas favourites.

Customers are spoilt for choice, as the selection of baked goods includes new flavours of traditional treats, including blood orange and fig fruit mince pies, sponge pudding with raspberry and plum sauce and a descendant chocolate fudge.

The range also features classic candy canes, chocolate buttons and coins, butter cookies and shortbread.

All products are currently available in stores, but the fruit and nut cake will be available on Wednesday October 14 and the shortbread treats will be available Wednesday October 21.

For $3.50 shoppers can buy a 12 pack of shortbread biscuits of varying flavours, but all are baked in stores and offer a fluffy, soft texture.

The butter sponge pudding with raspberry and plum sauce priced at a mere $2.50 offers a rich buttery taste with a sweet raspberry and plum sauce.  

Priced at $2 per packet, the miniature chocolate buttons and coins are perfect treats for children.  

The sweet caramel fudge or chocolate fudge is ideal for sharing and is priced at $5 each.  

The mince pies, priced at $4 per packet, are also made with a delicious shortcrust pastry and filled with a summery fruit mince.

Woolworths’ Merchandise Manager of Bakery, Donald Keith, said: ‘With the festive season getting nearer, this is the time of year we see customers start to think about Christmas and begin stocking up on some of their favourite Christmas treats, particularly from our bakery.
